Design sample

In this sample, we see the dangers of poor visual design. It's a particularly tricky one that had us testing different options to find the most effective solution. What do you think of the outcome?

If you'd like a sample edit of your work, we'd be happy to quote on a trial project. Please contact us.

How long would it take to decipher, while your car idles at the kerb?

And how could we make it clearer?

1  Try a diagram

Move from a text-based design to one that is more graphical.

Find new links between
the content to minimise repetition.

This will add skim value and save space.

2  Add some colour

Break up the monotony.

Apply colour where it can add value by identifying related content.

But don't go overboard. (This is a parking sign after all.)

3  Space it out

Give the layout some room to breathe.

Add more space around the blocks of content.

Trial different dimensions or a new orientation if you can.

Here's our version of the sign.

Scannable graphics

Generous spacing

Minimal repetition
